guest: Ryan Shore
Brunette and guest host, Michael Garber, welcome film composer Ryan Shore to Nontourage. Ryan discusses his career in music and describes how a middle school decision to join the band eventually led him to film scoring. In addition to explaining what a film score truly is, he provides a perspective of filmmaking that is often overlooked. Influenced by his uncle, Howard Shore, and legendary composer Elmer Bernstein, Ryan shares the creative challenges composers face while trying to interpret and enhance the mood of a film. He also discusses his early days scoring student films at NYU including Michael Garber’s Happy Hellidays as well as his recent work on the major motion picture Prime. The musical interlude this week is provided by Ryan Shore and include clips from the scores he composed for the film Cadaverous and the film Vulgar. Congratulations to Ryan on all his success. Please, sit back, get to know Ryan, listen to a little of his music and, of course, enjoy the SHOW!!!
